Innovation House presents a strong, contemporary, sub-tropical face to Innovation Parkway in the new Kawana Business Village. The combination of a simple, refined colour palette and the sophisticated application of a matt-finish, silver metallic wall cladding delivers a robust building form that is highly identifiable in the precinct.
The client’s program required large floor plates that are economical and flexible. This was achieved with an elongated central core focusing principal workplaces on the north and south facades, but with sufficient depth for activated space to the eastern street side and minimal exposure to the west.
Physically, the primary building form is raised above the ground plane to create a demarcation between showroom, service and parking areas on the ground, and the upper office sections. The building is exceptionally economical, yet projects a quality contemporary character by a deft handling of cladding and sun shading.
The building design incorporates many sustainable design principles and has been oriented to maximise the occupant’s access to natural light, adjacent lake views and distant ocean views.
