New commission for Byron Bay YHA Hostel

In a highly competitive process, STA was recently selected from a national shortlist of architects, to undertake the redevelopment of the Byron Bay YHA Hostel. The existing hostel, one of the most popular in Australia and a flagship for YHA, will be expanded with a major new addition accommodating a new and more prominent entrance lobby and café, along with a new generation of accommodation to meet changing market demands and the existing accommodation and facilities will be extensively refurbished to improve the overall offer and guest experience. Work has commenced on this project, with detailed client and user discussions and consultations with the Byron Shire Council.
